Braces and orthodontics in Matamoros, Mexico
Orthodontics corrects the position of the teeth and the bite. Beyond appearance, a well-aligned bite is easier to clean and spreads chewing forces more evenly. We treat growing children, teens and adults.

When it may be an option
- Crowded or overlapping teeth.
- Gaps between teeth.
- Crossbite, open bite or deep bite.
- Shifted teeth that make other treatments, such as implants or veneers, harder.
Treatment options
Braces
Metal, clear or self-ligating braces, adjusted at follow-up visits to move teeth gradually.
Clear aligners
Removable clear trays changed in stages. Not every case is a candidate; this is decided at your evaluation.
Interceptive orthodontics
Early treatment for children to correct bite or space problems while they are still growing.
Dentofacial orthopedics
Appliances that guide jaw growth in children and teens, when the evaluation indicates it.
Retention
Retainers to keep teeth in their new position once treatment ends.
Combined orthodontics
Alignment before veneers, crowns or implants, when the plan requires it.
The options available for your case are confirmed at your evaluation.

Limitations and considerations

- You need to attend scheduled follow-ups.
- If you don't wear retainers, teeth can shift back.
- There may be soreness after adjustments, and hygiene takes more effort.

Orthodontics FAQs
How long does treatment take?
It depends on what needs to be corrected. We give you an estimate after your evaluation.
Am I too old for orthodontics?
Not necessarily. Many adults can be treated if their gums and bone are healthy.
How often do I need to come in?
Follow-ups are regular throughout treatment. We'll tell you the frequency in your plan.
Does it hurt?
It's normal to feel pressure or soreness for a few days after adjustments.
At what age should my child have a first orthodontic check?
A check around age 7 helps spot bite or growth problems early. Treatment doesn't always start right away; sometimes we simply monitor.
Do you offer clear aligners?
Yes, for patients who are good candidates. At your consultation the specialist explains whether they're an option for you or whether another appliance is better.
I live in Texas. How often would I need to cross?
Orthodontics needs regular adjustment visits for months. We'll tell you the expected frequency before you start so you can plan your trips.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the type and length of treatment. We explain the cost after your evaluation.
